Lower Umpqua Fly Casters Fly Fishing Expo
The Lower Umpqua Fly Casters Club is hosting their annual Fly Fishing Expo this year at the local Reedsport Community Center on February 24th. Starting at 9 am, the Expo will be hosting free Fly Fishing Demonstrations, vendors with Fly Fishing related items for sale, a silent auction, raffles and more for the public to enjoy. Family Movie Night
Highland Elementary is hosting their next Family Movie Night on February 23rd, starting at 5:30. The featured movie will be “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Mutant Mayhem”. There will be concessions available at the movie as well, prices will vary between 0.50 and $2. Please bring your own chairs, blankets, and cash to the movie event. All children must be accompanied by their parents during the movie and Afterwards the movie will be raffled off to enjoy by the lucky ticket winner. Fundraising Concert Benefit for North Bend Public Library
North Bend Public Library is getting renovated, so to help with renovation costs, a Public benefit Concert will be held in the meeting room at the library. Featuring performances by the North Bend High School Jz Choir, Tree-O, Sounds of Joy, Willie and the South Coast Bluegrass Band, and Sea Breeze Harmony. Special guest The Unipiper will also perform before the concert in the Library parking lot from 1:15-1:45 PM. The concert is a family-friendly event suitable for all ages. Spring Gardening
The Lower Umpqua Library will be hosting Carolena Peirce on February 17th for the class “Spring Gardening”. If you would like to learn a thing or two about gardening, or just need a refresher, than Carolena can help you. Starting at 10 am, the class will be a set of 4 separate classes. Each with its own amazing and unique gardening study area. From beginning, to growing and even how to compost, these classes have it covered. AMVET's Sock Hop Fundraiser
The Coos Bay Eagles will be hosting the local AMVET's for their annual Sock Hop Fundraiser this Saturday. Starting at 5:30 pm, there will be music provided by “Border Patrol”, a silent auction, dinner, drinks and a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds from this event will stay in the local community to help local veterans and their families. Dinner will start at 5:30 pm. Sunset Trail Party
Join the Trail Keepers of Oregon this Saturday to help maintain and clean the sunset Beach Trails. Starting at 10 am, the TKO team will head down the sunset beach trails clipping back bush's, trimming limbs and maintaing the trails for all future hikers, walkers and trail blazers. Beginnings of Ceramics Class
If you would like to learn how to make clay pots, bowls, cups or sculpt beautiful things with Clay, than the Oregon Coeast School of Art has you covered. Starting on Jan 27th at 2 pm, a beginners to clay class will available to attend. The classes will run through 8 weeks of learning the trade and will end on March 16th. Florence Winter Music Festival 2024

Lower Umpqua and Dunes Family Health Care Center are teaming up and presenting a free clinic for vaccines to the public. Starting at 9 am on the 20th, the clinic will be opening its doors to the public for Covid-19 and Flu vaccines. Anyone can schedule an appointment for the vaccines and are welcomed. Celebration of life for Steve Miller
A Celebration of life will be held for Steve Miller on January 13th, starting at 1 pm. Held at Mind Power Gallery, this celebration of life is for all freinds, families and aqauntices of Steve Miller to come together. Share memories, stories and more. Steve served as city attorney since the mid 70’s and was on the board for Reedsport Main Street Program. The South Coast Folk Society is inviting everyone to a free Community Contra Dance located at the North Bend Senior Center. Martha Chapter Pancake Feed
The Martha Chapter Order of the Eastern Star is proudly hosting a Pancake Feed this Saturday starting at 8 am. Located at the Reedsport Masonic Hall, adults eat for $8, children 4-11 $4 and children under 4 eat free. Along with the Pancake Feed there will also be a raffle for 2 beautiful Table runners. All ticket proceeds from the Raffle will benefit cancer research and PAVE (Paws Assisting Veterans). The raffle will be held at 11 am, so if you would like to fill your belly with delicious pancakes while helping a worthy cause, make sure to stop by the Masonic Hall. St. Mary's Christmas Service
St. Mary’s Church in Gradiner is inviting everyone to come celebrate the birth of Jesus on December 24th at 4 pm. There will be Christmas carols, candlelight and refreshments available to all who attend. Known as “The church with the Red Door” St. Mary’s is excited to see everyone there. Reedsport Light Parade 2023
Come and view the Annual Reedsport Light Parade with the Community! The Light parade starts at 6 pm and will be hosting a million Christmas lights on dozens of floats and vehicles.
